LMS Ethics Committee

The LMS Ethics Committee has been put in place to ensure that all research within the Division involving human participants is conducted in an ethical manner and conforms to the standards set out by the NTU Institutional Review Board.  Among its guiding principles, research participants must be informed of all risks before providing their explicit written consent to participate, and their anonymity and confidentiality are strictly maintained whenever appropriate.  Broadly, the activities of the LMS Ethics Committee include the following:

  • Preliminary ethics review of proposed new research by faculty members from the Division
  • Advisory consultation for faculty members in the Division seeking ethics approval from the NTU Institutional Review Board
